-Abstract
This paper consists on a commentary to Kurt Lewin’s «The conflict between Aristotelian and Galilean modes of thought in contemporary psychology» (1931). Since Lewin, in this paper presents a series of predictions and prescriptions about the future of Psychology, the authors tried to assess the accuracy of the former and the applicability of the later in contemporary Psychology. It is discussed: (a) the decline of the epistemology of Phisics as a metatheoretical resource for Psychology; (b) the empirical status of Psychology framed within an evolutionary perspective; (c) the rationality and function of concepts of «cognitive error»; (d) the tension between Aristotelian and Galilean modes of thought in Psychology and; (e) the epistemological autonomy of present time Psychology.
