-Abstract
Educational psychology is defined as learning and teaching through the life span. This definition implies that school is an environment designed to have an impact on students behavior. So educational psychology is currently concerned with the study of contexts or systems (ecosystems) where learning and teaching take place. In order to relocate educational psychology in a new scientific paradigm, the ecological perspective, the author analysis the world views (Altman & Rogoff, 1987), where psychology is currently studied, from philosophical standpoint. The trait, interactional, organismic, and transactional world views, are studied in order to situate both psychology and educational psychology, in a new historical and epistemological paradigm. It is predominantly the organismic and the transactional world views, that are in the origin of the ecological perspective in educational psychology.
