The purpose of the present study is to evaluate the school achievement and the economic-performance self-evaluation, as a function of demographic variables related to the adolescent families. The sample consisted of 994 adolescents with ages between 12 and 19 years and throughout all grades of Portuguese high school. The study enhances the importance of family socio-cultural status on under-achievement and academic performance self-evaluation.
