Abstract

The author presents a broad overview of the development of Social Psychology in Portugal. The main guideline ideas that underly the different approaches that exist in Portugal are identified. Some of the most important research programs are singled out for brief analysis. The Portuguese Social Psychology community is characterized as a whole, and some of its prospects for expansion are outlined.
