Organizational perceived justice, job satisfaction, and behavioral options

Studied the role of perception of organizational justice in the workplace and the influence of distributive, procedural, and interactional fairness on job satisfaction and behavioral options. Ss included 427 adult employees of an industrial business in Portugal. Data on organization function and job satisfaction was obtained by questionnaire. The results were evaluated according to perception of justice/injustice; satisfaction with salary, work climate, and leadership; and options for external and internal change. Multiple correspondence analysis and other statistical tests were used. The results indicate that the perception of justice is associated with degree of fear of job loss or change in job status. Models of distributive, procedural, and relational justice in the workplace are discussed.
