Abstract

The objective of this article is to present several psychotherapeutic evaluation methods in order to enable clinicians for a systematic monitoring of their practices and simultaneously allowing opportunity for more adequate generalizations and conceptualizations of the therapeutic process. Two groups of methodologies are presented: outcome methodologies and process methodologies. For the outcome methodologies the characteristics and illustrations of the following procedures are provided: treatment manualization; global outcome analysis; comparative analysis; differential analysis of the therapeutic matrix. Regarding process methodologies several procedures are discussed: process-outcome analysis; sequential analysis of therapeutic responses; analysis of phenomenological construction; task analysis.
