Burns and Stalker (1961) have proposed an analysis model of the organizations’ structure, according to a continuum from «mechanistic» to «organic». The question we intend to analyze in the study is to know what is the impact of organizational socialization and self-perception of originally and efficiency in the conception of desirability of the organizational structure in which the individuals work. To analyze this question, a correlational sincronic study was carried out with 60 individuals working in a private enterprise which structure is essentially organic. The results show a significant effect of organizational socialization on the conception of the organizational structure. They also reveal that subjects with high score in their self-perception than those with low score. When the individuals with high score in efficiency entered the organization, they presented a non organic conception and they progressively adopted an organic conception. Conversely, the individuals with low score in efficiency initially presented a highly organic conception; their position, however, will be notified, stabilizing only after 4 years of socialization in a position similar to the one showed by the group with high score. This results are discussed accounting for the interplay of individual and organizational variables in the organizational behavior interpretation.
