Transição escolar e identidade: Um estudo com crianças da Musgueira do Sul

The authors briefly characterize the Musgueira Sul neighbourhood, paying special attention to the educational conditions of its children. Afterwards they describe a research which aimed at analyzing the impact of school transition upon these children’s Social and Personal Identities and the stereotypes of the social groups present in their context. Results are discussed taking into account the specificity of this transition.
