Para uma socioecologia do insucesso escolar: Uma abordagem num contexto de bairro-de-lata

In the present work the relationships between school failure (and drop-out) and social, economic, cultural and family context are analyzed in the shanty-town of Musgueira Sul, Lisbon. The specific psychological conditions of development and the socialization processes of Musgueira children are also analyzed. A structural model of the variables associates with school behavior of children aged 7-14 in put forward, the author stressing the fact that he is building up a contextualized model of such school response, far from a general and abstract model of school failure and drop-out.
