This article reflects on Paicheler and Moscovici (1984) statements about compliance and conversion: first, centering especially on the analysis on the genetic model of social change, we emphasize its limits and potential to explain the social influence processes, against the functional model centered on the social control; second, turning to the other models, we make the integration and differentiation of the genetic model in organizational context.
