Influência da privação visual precoce na resposta à estimulação auditiva: experiência realizada em ratos (Rattus Norvegicus)

Abstract

The effects of early visual deprivation as to the response to audiitive stimulation were studied by comparing the behavior of deprived animals with that of the control ones. Though the two groups did not differ but the one of deprived animals showed significant differences in the response to the sounds experimented. The results do not support the hypothesis of sensorial compensation regarding this specific task. It is discussed the possibility of sensorial compensation being manifested in other tasks.
