-Abstract
The author discusses empirical studies bearing on the frustration aggression relationship. Close examination of the most often quoted studies, discloses both material errors and inconsistent interpretations of experimental data. Available evidence shows that interruption or failure at a valued task do not elicit aggressive reactions, except in one case, where minimal amounts of aggression were displayed towards an agent, presumably responsible for the failure of the subjects. Cardio-vascular measures show a consistent pattern of reaction to frustrating events, which seems to be independent of the reaction of the subjects to scope with frustration.
