A terapia familiar, o terapeuta familiar e o grupo da Sociedade Portuguesa de Terapia Familiar

Abstract

The author thinks over a definition of family therapy, pointing out the theoretical models that form its basis: the General Systems theory, the cybernetics and the pragmatics of human communication. Concerning the family therapy practice the author describes the setting, the supervisor-therapist relation and the family therapist. At last, the author reports the formation of the Portuguese Society for Family Therapy and the different levels that have been worked through, focusing the contemporaneity of this theory.
