A experiência de uma comunidade terapêutica de toxicodependentes

Abstract

The author describes the experience of a Therapeutic Community for Drug Addicts in the Young clinic of the Southern Regional Direction (DRS) of the Centre of Studies and Prevention of Drug Addiction (CEPD), in Lisbon, its functioning and also the problems brought up in a community of this type. Is it shown the importance of team work and the psychotherapeutic approach based and interpersonnel relationships, as well as the community life in the treatment process. The coordination with the other teams of the DRS is shown as important, and the difficulties and deficiencies found in general in a community of the type are described.
