Abstract

The denial of death, quite common in the urban world of present times, seems inter-connected with the optimistic and trivial ideology that suppresses the need for philosophy and promotes a psychological science where the whole understanding of human condition is absent and some reductionist causalities take its place. The expectation of suffering that leads to death is considered vs the abstract entity that is death itself, and the meaning of this distinction is reported to the peculiarities of depressive pathology, of melancholic mood and ideation.
