-Abstract
While interviewing 56 individuals who recently experienced the lost of employment, we tried to establish the favorable and unfavorable conditions to mobility. Most of the interviewees show a considerable effort to adapt to new job experiences, but a low permeability to geographical mobility. The awareness of the scarce opportunities available outside the (rare) large urban centres, the local emotional bonds, and family stability are presented as the major obstacles to the idea of migration – when the present reintegration on the labor market is considered as a negative and frustrating experience.
