Aristófanes e a fundação da Cidade dos Cucos nas Nuvens

Abstract

Instead of a mere fantasy, Aristophane’s The Birds portraits the orphic dream of a starlike town (Phanes), ruled by a civic virtue (Arete) based up on trust and friendship among citizens (Pistis and Hetairos). So, the setting up of the Cloud Cuckoo Land (Nephelococcygia) fulfils the three platonic criteria for a fair republic: - respecting the cosmogonic and cosmologic pattern of a town; - defining a fair order for the city; - setting the psyche in harmony with itself, the city and the world.
