As depressões nas idades tardias

Abstract

The author describes briefly the main aspects of depression in aged people. After an introduction, where depression is defined, special attention is give, in the following sections of the chapter, to: epidemiology, genetics of depression, the characteristics of pre-morbid personality of patients, problems in diagnosis, prognosis, biologic findings in depression and, finally, therapeutics.
