Type A behavior pattern (TABP) is a theoretical construct developed upon Friedman and Rosenman’s researches in the late fifties. In this paper, the author presents a chronological review of this conceptualization, since the 18th Cent. Until the latest releases in this matter. Problems related to TABP detection, quantification and relationship with atherosclerosis are object of analysis and discussion, as well as the interventions used in the specific preventive therapy on this behavior pattern.
