Abstract

This article presents some aspects that in the last two decades have turned the criterion-referenced tests into an alternative to traditional tests, particularly in the educational field. Furthermore, it refers to the main characteristics and objectives of these tests, focuses the use of traditional statistical methodology in their development and analysis the reliability and validity of their scores. Finally, it presents some specific difficulties common complementary nature as tools used in a psychoeducational intervention.
