Abstract

The author reviews current knowledge and clinical experience of depression’s biological and psychotherapeutic treatments, either alone or in combination. We are beginning to have more efficient predictors and indicators for each of the three types of treatment. It is explained with the best corresponding treatment model for the present comprehensive biopsychosocial unified hypothesis of depression is the multimodal intervention schema. Further, this model gives to the brief Psychotherapeutic techniques the correct interface with other therapies and has relevant implications for their correct indications, limitations and clinical strategy.
