Nowadays, the social sciences make themselves more and more felt in the law courts. The psychologist is faced with the opportunity of intervening in that totally, new, complex and paradoxical world, which makes up the Family Court. The aim of this article is to identify some of the most frequent paradoxes which the psychologist is confronted with, in his or hers work and the possible and more appropriate strategies that can be adopted in a systemic intervention. A case is described in detail which illustrates, in a practical way, the approach that is advocated.
