-Abstract
This article presents the controversy between interdependence and social identification perspectives. This debate concers the role assigned to interdependence and categorisation on group formation and intergroup behavior. We explain how the social identification perspective has pretended to exclude interdependence from group formation and intergroup discrimination and how the data obtained by the interdependence authors sheds some doubts on those conclusions.
