Abstract

Created a battery of selected cognitive test for Portuguese patients with epilepsy secondary to temporal or frontal foci. A control group of 160 healthy individuals completed the battery for collection of normative data. Results of several tasks were analyzed according to the effects of age, literacy, gender and other demographic characteristics. Comparison of groups revealed variation of capacities on verbal and visual tasks. These findings are seen to show the critical importance of neuropsychological test normalization to clearly determine the meaning of results.
