IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT IN THE SUBMISSION POLICY

To continue the process of internationalization and to increase the impact factor of the PSICOLOGIA Journal, the current Editorial Board decided to establish a gradual change from manuscripts mostly submitted in Portuguese, to manuscripts exclusively submitted in English.

Such decision of the current Editorial Board of the PSICOLOGIA Journal is based on the need to increase the journal’s competitiveness in an international market, namely by increasing the number of citations of the articles we publish. This increase will benefit not only the journal’s impact factor, but also the author(s) and the visibility of their publications and their scientific work.

Hence, and within the context of a gradual change, the Editorial Board of the PSICOLOGIA Journal announces that starting March 20 2020 we will only consider for peer review those manuscripts that are submitted in English in the domains of Psychometrics and Research Methods in Psychology (e.g., development, adaptation and validation of scales; materials to be used in research; norms of stimulus sets; etc.). Every manuscript submitted in these domains that do not follow these norms will be sent back to the authors to be re-submitted in English. This decision does not apply to manuscripts submitted in the abovementioned domains that are already submitted or in the process peer-review in PSICOLOGIA Journal. Manuscripts submitted in any other area can be submitted in Portuguese until further notice, although we suggest that manuscripts are submitted in English.
