Vinculação aos pais e as aspirações de vida na adolescência: O efeito mediador da sintomatologia depressiva

A literatura sugere que a qualidade relacional na díade pais-filhos poderá assumir-se como fator de risco ou protetor na formulação e projeção de aspirações de vida e no desenvolvimento de sintomatologia psicopatológica de natureza depressiva. O objetivo do presente estudo prende-se com a análise do papel da qualidade da vinculação aos pais no desenvolvimento de aspirações de vida de adolescentes, testando o efeito mediador da sintomatologia depressiva na associação anterior. A amostra foi constituída por 1326 participantes, com idades entre os 12 e os 18 anos. Os resultados sugerem que as dimensões da vinculação aos pais predizem diferencialmente as aspirações de vida intrínsecas e extrínsecas e a sintomatologia depressiva. Verifica-se ainda que a sintomatologia depressiva apresenta um efeito mediador positivo na associação entre a qualidade do laço emocional ao pai e as aspirações de vida extrínsecas. Os resultados foram discutidos à luz da teoria da vinculação e da autodeterminação.
